Message From the factory, all Z32s have aluminum hoods. TT or NA, both weigh the same.

If your Z has the heavier steel hood, it usually means the car was involved in an accident and had the hood replaced. The heavier steel hood is a clear sign of possible front end impact.

Albeit, one can replace with a fresh aluminum hood, dealers then to go with the steel option because it's cheaper than aluminum one. They figure the average owner wouldn't notice the difference and they can still charge the ignorant owner or insurance company the aluminum rate.
